Pretty Litter???
« on: October 06, 2016, 12:48:32 am »
Seriously....just saw this on Facebook. Interesting concept, but I still think it's kind of pricey. Would be nice to have it delivered to your home instead of hauling it in from the car.

Anyone heard of this or used it before?

Well, it is a silica gel based litter, which means for kittens or like Freyr likes to eat things he shouldn't I would say this is not the right product. However before I had Ragdolls, we did use a silica based litter, I liked it but so did the dog. Again not the right product for dogs who eat poop.

I do like the idea of it though.  I didn't check out the price as the price for international shipping would make it very expensive.

I've not heard of this litter, but I sure might look into it a little further. I've started using Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat lite litter for cats with long fur. I alternate with Dr. Elsey's Respiratory Relief clay. I really like the light weight of litter for long haired cats. It is white in color similar to the Pretty Litter in the video. It would be great to  know if & when Pippa or Noli have pending health problems. When Noli was a little over a year old I noticed she was urinating extremely large amt.s urine of course I took her right in to the vet. Dr. R. said her urine was very diluted & referred us to a specialist that could find nothing wrong with her kidneys - thank heaven. I still worry however if one day she may get kidney issues so I watch her output carefully. The new litter in the video is a novel idea if it will really work.
Thanks for the link  :)

Oh wow! That's pretty cool if it actually works as advertised.

I was using this litter when I was scooping (I won a Litter Robot Open Air in a contest so I'm not scooping as much these days ;) )...the reason I used it was for the same volume as a big bag of clay, this was super light.  I could carry it to and from the car without too much trouble.

I tried silica litter years ago and my cats didn't like the feel of it under their feet, and there were reports of it going up into urethras or something like that...but maybe they've fixed that problem.  That was on the old Litterbox-Central forum, which seems to be gone.

oh wow that looks so like the one I used to get here for the cats I cried when they stopped making it wonder if this is too take its place. It was fantastic a crystäl sand the cats loved it was soft on paws and my feet they all covered their solids and 3 bags lasted the 3 cats a month and was brilliant at odor control. Just scooped solids every day.   I will send link to importer thanks for posting..

I just like the idea of having colored pee that tells you if something is wrong.  It didn't look like it really clumped though.

From what I read - no it doesn't clump because the pee is absorbed so you just have to scoop the solids

I just checked it out and they will deliver free to Saipan but I would still have to pick up at post office as we do not have mail delivery. Thinking about it.
Claude has his own bathroom and I use the shower stall as a box so I would probably need to order two or three bags to make it deep enough. That could get pricey. IDK, but I like the color change thing.
